The Wigan Write Out Loud open mic poetry night has moved online - with Ian hosting the event - the first event, hosted on Zoom by The Old Courts, was on 30th April and the next one is due on Thursday 21st May from 8.10pm. More details on Face Book

I am undertaking some on-line guest spots via Facebook. The first of these is on 26th April (Poetry's Not Fucking Boring) which will be a punk poetry set - followed by a gig for Sunday Assembly on 31st May where I will be performing poetry relating to the Covid-19 lockdown. I will be looking to add more dates until Live Performances recommence - so please keep checking the gig guide for instructions on how to join these events

I intend to review gigs on a fortnightly basis – and take decisions on whether to play or pull out based on current Government guidelines at the time. Gigs may also be pulled by the venues - so please keep checking the GIG GUIDE.

Due to venue closures because of Covid-19, Bard Company have had to postpone all dates on their 'Raising The Standards' tour until further notice. We are awaiting available dates to reschedule the gig at the Tudor House in Wigan, the Otley Labour Rooms and the Red Shed in Wakefield

Regrettably I've had to cancel the open mic poetry sessions that I run ('Write Out Loud', Wigan and 'Getting Gobby In The Lobby', Wakefield) until further notice - due to the Covid-19 lockdown. I am keeping in touch with the venues and will restart the events once the current Covid-19 situation improves - until then, please 'LIKE' the individual pages to get further updates.

The 'What's Your Story, Chorley?' festival has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation - so my solo poetry spot and the Bard 2 The Bone music spot will not take place

Ian will be the host of a new poetry/comedy open mic night called GETTING GOBBY IN THE LOBBY at Lobby 1867 in Wakefield. It takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from February 12th

11th November 2019

New BARD COMPANY album was released on November 11th 2019. Titled 'Raising The Standards' - the boys have written all but one of the 11 tracks in collaboration with John Kettle (Merry Hell) - which pay homage to Socialist heroes as well as criticising misuse of power and the rise of Fascism.
